ART PALM BEACH 2019

Miami-based curator and art world personality, Marcel Katz (@theartplug) debuted the second iteration of his new immersive art experience, The Art Plug Power House, at ArtPalmBeach 2019 on January 17th – 20th. The second iteration featured over 20 contemporary artists from across the globe, including CB Hoyo, Zevi G, Rhymezlikedimez, Matthieu Venot, Tiago Magro, Lefty Out There, John Paul Fauves and Ketnipz, who joined forces and converted over 3,000 square feet of the fair into a multi-faceted space exhibiting sensory art works and installations located in the fair’s Trailblazer pavilion.

CB HOYO

REAL ART GALLERY

CB HOYO, a self-trained internationally acclaimed artist who emigrated from Havana, Cuba, is welcoming Art Palm Beach crowds and collectors into his “Real Art Gallery”, an experience where guests are guided through a gallery featuring what appears to be masterworks by famous artists in history.

TIAGO MAGRO

ART INSTALLATION

At Art Palm Beach, onlookers viewed Tiago Magro’s collection of painted furniture and walls, produced through music and materials, inside The Art Plug Powerhouse. They had the opportunity to interact with Magro’s installation, snap, and post photos, and even watch him in person, as he live paints in his activation suite during various times throughout the fair.

Magro’s work was also showcased on the billboard of the Palm Beach Convention Center.

KETNIPZ

DINNER WITH BEAN

Palm Beach crowds had a chance to experience a white dining room table fit for 8, arranged for a formal dinner dressed with plates, silverware, candles, and a fireplace mantle. Each plate highlighted sculptures of Hambley’s signature Bean, in no other than a bowl of tomato soup or caught in an oversized pink, sprinkled donut.

CB Hoyo was the artist behind the Art Plug Trap House art installation, along with a neon art wall. Guests were free to walk around and interact with the exhibition in various ways, making for the perfect photo opportunities

RHYMEZLIKEDIMEZ

WAKE UP IN THE SKY

Showcasing his first prints at Art Basel Miami Beach’s Art Plug Powerhouse this year, Robin Velghe, coined by the name Rhymezlikedimez, sold out the entirety of his works in one grand flush.

“It’s an amazing feeling to see that people really care about my work,” said Velghe. “This was only my second print release and we didn’t expect it to sell out in an hour. I’m incredibly grateful.”

PROP MOVIE MONEY

Daniel Columbie, owner and founder of Prop Movie Money, has been rolling out the dough for everyone’s favorite Hollywood films since Inception in 2008. And now, this moneymaker is turning his on screen prized creations into large-scale installations. Showcasing his work at Art Palm Beach inside The Art Plug’s Powerhouse, Columbie is looking to show collectors and crowds the energy that money, power, and art seamlessly bring together.

INTERACTIVE GALLERY

Art Palm Beach collectors and crowds were able to find one of Fauves’s paintings located in the The Art Plug Power House booth, highlighting Marilyn Monroe. A projection video was staged to morph their faces into redesigned images.

FEATURED MURAL

Franco Campanella, also known as @leftyoutthere, created a mural at the entrance of the event that displayed a special canvas.

 

SCULPTURES

Artist Zevi G showcased his golden Mr. Moneybags inflatable sculpture, spanning 20ft, at Art Palm Beach 2019. Smaller sculptures of his characters were also displayed in a gallery setting.
