BLEEDING IN COLOR

In 2019, The Art Plug & Marcel Katz Art presented “Bleeding in Color”, an art exhibition featuring artists; Tiago Magro, Gabriela Noelle, Jen Clay, and Jonathan Ryan Harvey.  The artwork was on display at The Gelareh Mizrahi Store in Miami’s Design District from August 21 to the 24th.

Bleeding in Color is a reference to creating a positive outlook based on life’s hardships and experiences.

“We all have our battles, but every wound makes us who we are. These experiences help us progress as individuals, evolve, and come back stronger than ever. Our ability to overcome life’s greatest obstacles are what make us unique. Everyone has an experience we can learn from” – Marcel Katz

EXPERIENCE

In addition to the exhibition, The Art Plug released a unique, handmade tie-dye hoodie. The hoodie is designed by Marcel Katz and limited to 15 pieces.

The Art Plug Unicorn made a special appearance while guests enjoyed cotton candy, popcorn, pizzas provided by Pizza Bar and craft cocktails, including the featured “The Art Plug”, on Ember‘s curated menu by Brad Kilgore. An acai popsicle stand was also on-site raising money for Lifestyle Miami‘s Beach Cleanup.

JEN LYNN CLAY

Featured at the event was Jen Lynn Clay‘s art activation “Fruiting Bodies”, where guests were able to interact with the surprise installation in the back of the store.

“Fruiting Bodies is an amalgamation of past projects made up of deconstructed wearables, hand tufted rugs and quilted textiles. Lips, hands and breasts are disembodied and repeated to makeup unfamiliar forms which represent the alien and unfamiliar self.”- Jen Lynn Clay
