Edgar Plans was born in Madrid in 1977 and currently resides and practices his art in Gijón, Asturias. His artistic journey began in the studio of the painter Jose María Ramos, where he honed his foundational skills in drawing and painting from 1995 to 1997. He furthered his academic pursuits, ultimately achieving a degree in Art History from the University of Oviedo.
His artistic style is characterized by its fresh, dynamic, and expressionistic nature, placing a strong emphasis on vivid colors and the tactile use of materials. While his paintings may exude a certain childlike quality, they possess a profound depth beyond their initial appearance. His artwork serves as a means of communication, provoking thought and eliciting emotions, making it akin to objects with their own inherent life. His work spans a wide range of themes, from critiquing societal issues to the creation of imaginative characters.
